Finished in Bianco Biancospino, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT preserved in the collection was added by Fabrizio Giugiaro as a gift to his father on the occasion of Giorgetto’s 60th birthday.
Derived from the Alfa Romeo Giulia and introduced in 1963, the GT Junior combined compact dimensions, refined proportions and a new formal clarity. Giugiaro drew on themes already explored with the 2000 Sprint, developing a wide and airy passenger compartment, taut body sides and a front end characterized by a broad rectangular grille incorporating the headlights.
One of its most distinctive elements was the characteristic front “step”, in italian “scalino” originally linked to an air intake solution and later retained as a recognizable styling feature of the early versions.
Presented to the press in September 1963 and unveiled shortly afterwards at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Giulia GT Junior immediately established itself as a new benchmark in its category, combining a modern line with genuine sports car performance.
