The Fiat Panda 4x4 Sisley preserved in the Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro Collection dates from 1987, the first year of production of the special series, and is finished in Rosso Bordeaux metallic, one of the three colours originally offered for the model.
The Sisley represented one of the most distinctive interpretations of the Panda 4x4, combining the simplicity and functionality of Giugiaro’s original design with a richer and more recognizable identity. Its specific details included ivory-coloured wheels, dedicated graphics, roof rack, headlamp washers, inclinometer and the characteristic Sisley canoe emblem, also repeated inside the cabin.
Introduced in 1987, the special version reinforced the adventurous character of the Panda 4x4 while retaining the compact proportions and essential architecture that had made the model so successful.
In 2018, the example now preserved in the collection was converted to electric propulsion. The transformation was conceived to preserve as much as possible of the original driving architecture: rather than replacing the entire transmission system, the electric motor was integrated while retaining the gearbox and its original ratios.
The result gives this particular Sisley a second layer of significance within the collection: an original first-year example of an iconic Giugiaro design, later reinterpreted through electric propulsion while maintaining a direct mechanical connection with the character of the original car.
