2006 – Ford Mustang by Giugiaro Concept

This full-scale styling model explores a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic American pony car, combining familiar references with a more modern and experimental design language.

The front and rear bumper fins reinterpret traditional styling cues, while the panoramic glazed surface, extending visually from the windscreen across the roof and into the rear window, gives the upper body a continuous and highly distinctive appearance.

The front end recalls the character of classic pony cars, while the interior introduces details inspired by Western and cowboy imagery, reinforcing the specifically American identity of the project.

The butterfly-style doors and the strongly graphic treatment of the body further emphasize its show-car character. Several of the design elements explored on this model would later influence the production cars that followed.
