2007 – Daihatsu Cuore

The red Daihatsu Cuore preserved in the collection belongs to the seventh generation of the model, introduced in Europe in 2007.

Known as Mira in the Japanese market and Cuore in Europe, the model was extensively revised for its European debut. The exterior dimensions were slightly increased compared with the previous generation, while retaining the compact proportions that had always defined the model.

The European version was offered exclusively with five doors and was conceived to maximize interior space and everyday usability within very limited external dimensions.

Its design reflects a rational and essential approach, translating the requirements of a small city car into a clear and contemporary form. The example preserved in the collection documents Fabrizio Giugiaro’s work on a category far removed from sports cars and concept vehicles, but equally important in demonstrating how design can improve usability, proportion and identity in a highly functional production car.
