The polystyrene design model of the Techrules Ren preserved in the collection is a unique piece in which automotive design and contemporary art come together.
The Ren represents one of the first major projects presented by GFG Style and was conceived as an extreme interpretation of the high-performance car, combining an unconventional architecture, advanced technology and a strongly futuristic formal language.
On this model, the original volumes of the Ren become the surface for an intervention by Ezio Gribaudo. Through engraving, the artist transforms the polystyrene body into a graphic and material composition, creating a direct contrast between the futuristic character of the car and a visual language rooted in memory, signs and artistic research.
The result is an object that exists simultaneously as a design model and as a work of art. The Ren becomes a meeting point between two different temporal dimensions: the past, expressed through Gribaudo’s artistic language and the physical gesture of engraving, and the future, embodied by the technological and formal vision of the automobile.
Its presence in the collection therefore goes beyond the documentation of a design process. It represents the encounter between two creative disciplines and two ways of interpreting form, transforming an automotive model into a unique testimony to the relationship between art, design and time.
