The two main aims were to streamline bodies and lower noise levels. Both were achieved by rounding rough edges and substantially optimizing the results in the wind tunnel. The wide opening arc of the single-section front door and the hydraulic dumping system make it easier to maintain and overhaul the truck. The uncluttered, personalized design of the front, with the bonnet balanced between smooth surfaces and horizontal slits, is repeated on all the models in the range. Seen from the side, what makes the door so striking is the sloping rake of the window, which is unusually deep to aid visibility in close-packed traffic or during troublesome maneuvering.
