Streamline

Giugiaro took the stylistic elements that had recurred in Scania's long, prestigious history, adding an extra sense of robustness and safety in the form of horizontal fret motifs on the front and all round the doors and cab. For added coherence and personality, the design was extended to all the vehicles in the range: ie, trucks with integrated engines, with jutting engines, with short cabs, with long cabs and so on.

The masses were rounded and pared down following through wind tunnel testing. 1992 saw the birth of the aerodynamically styled rangetopper, the Streamline.
