The design of the ETR 600 was developed starting from 2004 in collaboration with Alstom Ferroviaria, as a development of the design philosophy with tilting body.

The ETR 600 boasts all the functional, ergonomic and comfort requirements of the “cahier des charges” designed to obtain solutions able to satisfy the needs of a renewed user (business, tourism, etc.). Compared to the preceding types of "Tilting Train" both the body and the access points have been enlarged. Spaciousness, brightness, live-ability of the interiors have all benefitted. The new seats are equipped with a technical column and relevant audio-module with sockets to power up electrical devices.
