Launched in 1996 in Brazil, the Fiat Siena is part of Project 178 consisting of a series of cars (Siena, Palio, Albea) developed on the same project but adapted to the various regional realities in which they are produced. The Siena in particular is a three-box sedan intended primarily for South American markets. The initial chassis is derived from the European Fiat Uno, with various modifications such as stiffeners and lengthened wheelbase, and as in the case of the Uno is designed by Giugiaro. The Siena underwent several redesigns, again by Giugiaro: the first in 2001, and the second in 2003, offering a more rounded front end. This version then remained in production until 2012.
